Christina’s PRIORITIES

Christina Vogel is running for Erie County Executive with a clear vision: to put people first and restore trust in county government. As a small-business owner, Erie County Community College Board Member, and mother of three teenagers, she has spent her life solving problems, balancing budgets, building up our community, and bringing people together to get results. With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Christina has the experience necessary to properly manage taxpayer dollars with transparency and accountability so investments truly strengthen our community. She is committed to putting people at the center of county government by expanding access to affordable education, ensuring reliable emergency services in every corner of the county, and supporting the health and well-being of families across Erie County. And she knows progress is only possible through partnerships, by working with local businesses, labor, nonprofits, and municipalities to move Erie County forward together. With a proven track record of leadership and collaboration, she will prioritize:

Fiscal responsibility

Christina is focused on restoring accountability, cutting waste, and protecting taxpayers. She will propose balanced budgets that comply with the Erie County Home Rule Charter, eliminate duplication of services, and create an independent oversight committee to monitor spending. Vogel will end illegal practices that have triggered multiple lawsuits costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and settlements while working to reverse the reckless spending that led to the largest tax increase in decades. By implementing responsible budgeting, controlling expenses, and securing state and federal funds that the current administration has repeatedly lost, Vogel will rebuild the county’s financial stability and refocus spending on essential services that truly serve residents.

Investing in our people

Christina will invest in people by strengthening Erie County’s workforce, expanding healthcare access, and improving public safety. She will promote fairness, transparency, and accountability across county government while partnering with Erie County Community College, local industries, and workforce agencies to align training programs with future job needs in technology, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism.

A key priority is strengthening EMS and public safety. Vogel will improve coordination between fire departments, EMS agencies, and law enforcement through regional planning, shared training facilities, and better use of 911 technology. She will cut waste by redistributing surplus medical supplies and ensure first responders have the tools, training, and family support they need, while expanding workforce training programs to recruit and train new emergency service professionals.

Vogel will also expand access to affordable healthcare by leveraging the county’s health department to coordinate faster response times, strengthen partnerships with local providers, and improve mental health and addiction recovery services through community-based care.

building partnerships

Christina’s plan for economic growth focuses on collaboration, efficiency, and smart investment to make Erie County a hub for opportunity. She will partner with local businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofits to align education with high-demand careers and create targeted workforce programs. To eliminate redundancy, she will establish an economic and community liaison to coordinate with existing economic development entities to streamline projects and drive regional growth. Vogel will make Erie County investment ready by coordinating infrastructure improvements for water, broadband, and energy delivery, while promoting Lake Erie’s freshwater as an advantage for manufacturing and technology growth.

She will work with nonprofits to expand affordable housing, improve food security, and strengthen social services, while increasing public engagement through town halls and open communication. Vogel will collaborate with neighboring counties and state and federal agencies to secure funding for transportation, infrastructure, and workforce development. She will also promote Erie County’s tourism potential by developing a Grape Heritage Area, expanding outdoor trail systems, and highlighting community assets from Erie Bluffs to the vineyards of North East.
